Laser Therapy Treatment and Pain Relief - Montvale Health & Wellness

Laser Therapy

Treating pain naturally and effectively without drugs is now an option thanks to the ClassIV high-powered K-Laser at Montvale Health & Wellness.

Laser therapy is proven to bio-stimulate tissue repair and growth and, when used in conjunction with manual techniques such as chiropractic or physical therapy, may help reduce pain levels and improve overall healing time.

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy, or “photobiomodulation”, is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser Therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970’s. Now, after FDA clearance in 2002, Laser Therapy is being used extensively in the United States and at Montvale Health & Wellness.

Why K-Laser

Cellular & Therapeutic Effects

Cellular Effects of Laser Therapy occur when photons of therapeutic laser light interact with cells. Higher adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) levels are produced, cell membrane permeability is increased, and blood and lymphatic vessels are vasodilated. These events then lead to a cascade of beneficial effects increasing cellular energy and health.

Laser Therapeutic Effects

During each treatment, laser energy increases circulation drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.

The effects of K-Laser treatments are cumulative.

Patients may experience significant pain relief very quickly. It is important to follow through with care in order to benefit from the biostimulative properties of therapeutic laser light.
